Green Tea & Smoking
Researches have shown that green tea daily could help recover cells fast from the chemical effects of smoking. Observations conducted during the studies have proved that daily green tea consumption in the volunteers have reduced their OhDG concentration – a measure of the damaged cells - in the urine sample by as much as 25%. Apart from its anticancer properties, green tea is also found to be effective against heart ailments and Parkinson’s disease. However black tea does not have any such positives.
Ascorbic Acid
Studies have proved that ascorbic acid or Vitamin C reduces the harmful effects of smoking, especially passive smoking, if not completely. According to the researchers, in the blood of volunteers who had agreed to take 500mg of ascorbic acid per day, there were fewer harmful radicals than the blood sample of a normal smoker.
Red Wine
Red wine can be a panacea against smoking hazards. According to researchers, two glasses of red wine could soften the harmful effects of a cigarette. This could help especially those who are occasional smokers who smoke 1-2 cigarettes daily.
